The Engineering Excellence Awards Competition recognizes projects of engineering
achievement by Illinois consulting engineering firms. Entries are judged on the basis of
engineering excellence, the degree to which the client's needs are met, and the benefits
to the public welfare and private practice of engineering. Three levels of awards are
presented:
The highest award, the Eminent Conceptor Award,
chosen from the Honor Awards and announced at the Awards Luncheon, recognizes an
engineering achievement which demonstrates a high degree of merit and ingenuity,
contributes to the advancement of the private practice of engineering, and enhances the
economic and social welfare of the general public.
Honor Awards are given for those projects which are
recognized for exceptional engineering that meet the needs of the client and benefit the
public welfare.
Pro Bono Publico Award is a new award created by the Engineering Excellence Awards committee to recognize engineering firm projects for the public good.
Special Achievement Awards are given for those
projects worthy of special recognition of the engineer and the owner/client for achieving
engineering excellence; and
Merit Awards are given for those projects worthy of
recognition for the engineer and the owner/client.
